Leif Enger was born on February 14, 1961, in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Mr.Enger was born to Don and Wilma Enger. Both of his parents were employed at the local highschool; his dad as a band director and his mom as a teacher. Mr. Enger attended Moorhead State University, where he studied English. Mr. Enger met his wife Robin Reed at Moorhead State, where she was majoring in Education. Leif and Robin have been married for twenty years and have been blessed with two sons.( Ages 10 and 14) Mr. Enger spent the first sixteen years of his career as an outstate reporter and producer for "Main Street Radio" in Minnesota. But after sixteen years on the job and publishing "Peace Like a River", "he quit after selling foriegn and movie rights to "Peace Like a River" (Author).
